Bisquick ,Disposable Pans,And a Mouse Trap

Hu?

What do Bisquick,Disposable Pans,And A Mouse Trap have in common?

Well, dinner of course!

Disposible Pan

Because our family is the size it is we have outgrown our 9 x 13 pans. Even two 9 x 13 pans are not enough!

Every once in a while, we will get the leftovers from a big community meal that our church or another church here in Waseca hosts. Sometimes those leftovers come in these big 12 x 19 (?) disposable pans. What a treasure these are. This pan in the picture has lasted since a Thanksgiving meal our church had. It could have been a church egg bake breakfast. I forget which. We are very careful in washing these out. Depending on what I make we can eat 1 1/2 to two whole pans of this 12 x 19 size.

I finally had to throw this pan and another one we acquired at the same time away. The holes on the bottom were just a little too big.

Someday I will come across actual big non disposable pans like this. I know there has to be some out there somewhere.

I did get one last meal in though.

Chicken pot pie Bisquick style!

Bisquick

I have not gotten Bisquick for a long while but I did on an impulse a few weeks ago. Gee what a treat is was. I did not know it came in such a big box. It felt like a luxury not needing to haul out all kinds of ingredients. Does anyone know how to make homemade Bisquick?

A Mouse Trap

As you see in the above picture, Lily is too interested in the mouse trap game to smile for the camera.

Don't worry, I did not serve mouse from a mouse trap for dinner.

It was chicken...honest.

Aprons For Pretty Girls

Yesterday evening, before the kids (except Lily) left for AWANA Joel and Lily were eating a little bowl of yogurt (with flax seed-he he. Don't tell).

I did not want them to spill on their clothes so they each put on an apron to catch any sloppy spills. Lily picked out this cute apron that Joel and Odell made for her a while back.

I thought I just had to show you all how sweet the apron is! They hand sewed the whole thing!

Lily, Joel,and Odell.

Notice Joel's tie? His Easter bug tie? I talked him into wearing it to AWANA. It pleases me so much to see him in it. Not sure what's up with his goofy smile, though.

A summer goal of mine:

I would like to walk to the library once a week with the eight younger kids. I was thinking of helping them make library simple book bags on the sewing machine...might sound a little too crazy. Maybe I do a few kids at a time...that might be easier. We will see if I actually get around to it.

Where Is That Neutral Zone When I Need It!!

I am not sure what is was.
Maybe because it has been so gloomy outside the past few days.

Maybe because most of the kids have a little cold sickness.

Maybe all the candy they ate over the weekend.

I do not know BUT this past Tuesday was one of the hardest, draining days I had had for a long time!

Almost EVERY child was whiny and fussy or angry. Really whiny and fussy and really angry (mostly directed at me). I had not seen this many temper tantrums all in one day for a long time. On any typical day, there usually are a few kids out of perspective but not this many and usually not this out of perspective.

If we were on a pirate ship I think the kids would have declared a mutiny and forced me to walk the plank. No, they would have not waited for me to walk the plank, they would have just thrown me over as soon as they saw a hungry shark swimming about.

It was crazy.

I was exhausted.

At least the day ended and I was pretty sure today would not be quite as bad.

This morning I found this under my door.

My soft hearted child. My Josh.

Of course,I decided to revoke the missing AWANA part of his punishment. He still accepted the other punishments he acquired yesterday with humility, but this one I let slide.

Looking back on yesterday, I am pretty sure we traveled through some sort of sub-space anomaly...

maybe the Badlands in the Alpha Quadrant?

Sadly, I could not find a neutral zone close by.

There was even a warp core breach scare to make things worse!

Too bad I did not handle things with that suave Jean-Luc diplomacy.

No,I handed it all in my mommy freak out type of way.

But things turned out fine.

Days like this usually do, don't they.

It Was Time

After a year of no dryer we present our new dryer!

Sorry laundromat dryers those late night visits just had to stop sometime.

You must have realised it just wouldn't work out long term.

We gave it a year and our relationship has run it's course.

No, no it's not about the times you took our money but did not dry our clothes.

Nor about the times you popped open your dryer doors just moments after we left to do an errand.

Not the missing socks,or t shirts,or baskets.

Or the mysterious undergarments that you thoughtfully add to our loads.

We just needed to move on.

Sure, sure we will think of you when we pass by as you sit empty, longing for a little company.

Yes,we might come in just to change the TV station.

We know how you dislike those late night infomercials.

For you have served us well this past year.

That is the least we can do.

Now that we said our good-byes

It's time for....

Mr Rock and Roll Superhero and his accomplice to test out our new dryer.

Loading things in.

A little puzzled but they will figure it out. Pst..Hint push the button

Pushing the button.

Not too Mr Rock and Roll Superhero looking at this moment.

This is more of a SuperGoofy moment.

SuperGoofy...kinda, maybe?

And now for the princess of the dryer.

P.S. All pictures were approved by Mr Rock and Roll Superhero himself. He is a good sport. And the dryer was only $75 dollars! God is very good to us here in Fryeville

Treat Bags

I just love my family. I love our traditions. We have fun.

Easter baskets are too hard to store so we have Easter bags instead.

Works just as good to hold those goodies (and it takes less to make a treat bag look full) .

I think the Easter Bunny is a little tired.

Happy Easter!!

to all of my blog readers!!!!!

Before the festivities begin here are a few random pictures I want to share.

The Frye boys in their Easter finery. Very Handsome bunch!

The Frye girls in looking beautiful this morning!

Here are a few pictures of the my Easter sewing I had not taken pictures of until now.

Joel's Easter bug tie. I made it! Pretty neat isn't it? Maybe a little long for Joel but so very cute!

If I had known ties were so easy to make I would have made them over the years for the bigger boys when they were little.

Odell in her finished Easter dress.

Ekie in her Easter outfit.

More Easter post to follow!
