VBS Time!!

Yesterday evening Vacation Bible School week started.

The kids were all excited.

Our seven big kids all helped as group leaders.

I wanted to get picture of the bigger kids in their staff shirts but funny how when the camera comes out the big kids are hard to find...

Our younger eight are participating in the VBS activities.

Ah,I did get a fun picture of them!

This was a milestone year because Lily went with.

Of course,I had to get it all in pictures. Lily was so excited.

Josiah was a leader for the preschool class and said that Lily was pretty shy and held dad's hand most of the time.

Lily came home and after eating two helpings of dinner she fell asleep just like this.

Too bad it was only a short cat nap...

Introducing

Skittles.

Lily's new best friend.

I was replaced.

I knew it would happen at some point

but I thought not until she was at least 15.

I miss calculated something.

A Few Great Finds

The other day there was a fundraiser garage sale at the fair grounds down the street.

I love those garage sales!

When one digs hard enough there are those few golden nuggets that make the search worth while.

Here are the nuggets I found.

Joel found a sweet gift for Grace.

Musical bears with pretty plastic flowers.

Anya, Ekie, and Lily thought a picture with the cute musical bears wrapper would be cute and I agree it is!

Notice Something?

Notice something?

That cool dude third from the right.

The one in the red?

(l to r) Alan 14, Grant 16, Cyrus, 12, Josiah 14, Nolan 11, Joshua 10

That is him!

That is our Josiah!!!

Our 7th Liberian.

He has been a part of our family for three weeks now

but it is like he was always here.

And

WE LOVE HIM !!!!!!

I can not even begin to express how perfectly he fits into our home.

How much he is loved.

God is very,very good.

God planned this.

God saved a place in our hearts and lives for this young man.

Have you ever heard the saying, "it fits like a glove"?

Well, this young man

Our Josiah,

fits our family like a glove.

Stepping out in faith can be VERY,VERY,VERY scary.

Sometimes when we stepped out in faith it is only BY faith that we could cling to God's goodness and wisdom because it was hard to see those things ourselves.

And sometimes like with Josiah, we stepped out in faith and God's goodness and wisdom became very clear.

Sometimes

Sometimes it takes a pair of sparkly shoes to bring me to my knees.

In the day to day life in a larger family things can go so fast.

Speedy fast.

Super speedy fast.

The little moments.

The special conversations.

The hugs.

The sweet words whispered.

They all go so fast.

But so do

The hurts.

The bumps.

The bruises.

The not so sweet words anything but whispered.

SO

Sometimes it takes a pair of sparkly shoes to bring me to my knees.

To remind me that bruise or sweet whisper, my family is in God's precious, strong hands.

To remind me that my shortcomings are more precious than my victories because my shortcomings call for God's mighty healing touch.

A touch more tender, more lasting, more healing than even a mother's kiss.

So I need those beautiful sparkly shoes to bring me to my knees.

As Pleased As Punch!!!!

I am so pleased that we are back and running with our computer!!!

How very nice!!!

Right now I am in our yard with my lap top while the kids are playing enjoying this perfect summer weather while I blog!

How cool is that?!!!!

Very cool!

Anyway, there has been a lot going on in the past weeks since I have been able to blog.

I will update you all soon.

I thought that for my first blog post I would share the sweet gift I was given by Josh this afternoon.

Three pretty flowers from his garden to enjoy as I blog.

Where Have I Been Anyway?!!

Our computer crashed last week so I have not been able to post anything!!

It looks like I will be computer less for a while longer.

At least it is in the summer when I can occupy my time with other things.

But then again there are SO many fun summer things to blog about!!

I am at the library right now looking for books on how to build a bunk bed and thought "hey! I will try to blog from here!"

Well, it is a little awkward but at least I can let you all know that I have not fallen from the face of the earth.

I am still here.

Oh, there has been a great deal happening around here but no time to share it all now.

I figured out how to load a pictures onto the library computer so here is a teaser of last week at the Waseca County Fair.

Yes!!

Our goofy Internet has been terrible the last few weeks!

But Yah!!! It decided to work for a few minutes tonight!!

I need to type fast.

It has been a tad of a stressful weekend.

Somethings we were anticipating to happen never seemed to come to pass.

Very sad about that but life moves on despite disappointments, doesn't it?

Ah!

The visor is down (see my last post) but after a few very emotional days I am ready to sit back, stop flapping my wings, and trust God and his wisdom.

One thing we did do this weekend was a good amount of painting. In anticipation of our growning family by adoption, we are moving bedrooms around, painting walls, mending bunk beds,in the process of purchasing a few more. We did not get the new bunk beds purchased yet but will soon.

We have a tentative home study date set up in a few weeks. That is very exiting!

And we have our court date for our re adoption of Naomi,Odell, and Joyce.

Things are moving forward at a lazy river pace, but still moving.

And guess what time it is?!!!!

Fair time!!!!!

This is one of my favorite parts of Waseca. It really is.

There is a lot about Waseca I like, but this is one of the best.
