Doesn't it look like we are camping?
We are not camping ,just enjoying our new fire pit.
Jeff and the boys thought our house was lacking a good old fire pit and since our grass is already worn down by the feet of many children...why not a fire pit. Buying one of those fancy fire pits was not in our budget. What to do? On one of those wet evening last week we located our school ruler (as to follow the fire pit size and depth rules within the Waseca city limits.Safety first!) and shovel and a bunch of strong boys (which we have many of).A half hour later our fire pit was finished!
Tonight was the first we tested the fire pit. After mom's initial panicked reaction to the blazing fire ( that someone would surly fall into...) we all settled down and enjoyed hot dogs cooked over our new fire pit.
Cyrus cooking the hot dogs while Jeff looks on...
Grace raising her hand for someone to pass her the catchup.
Side note: Problem...it is so crazy loud at meal times around here for anyone asking for something to be passed to be heard. Solution...a raised hand is noticed. Problem...solved.
Odell helps Grace with the catchup. As you can see they are just obliging me with half hearted smiles for the picture because they just want to eat!
As we are enjoying the fire, Josh is hard at work selling lemonade and rice crispy bars during a Waseca Braves game. Jeff set him up right on the corner of our yard. Josh made 18 dollars! Wasecans know a good cup of lemonade when they taste one! Josh kindly gave Nolan 3 dollars for keeping him company for a little while.
