A New Creation

I had been thinking of trying my hand at making a few fun cape type jackets for my Etsy shop.

I thought I would first make one for Lily and see how it turned out.

Pretty cute.

I think with the ones for my Etsy shop I will not include the little hand slits.

I am working with fleece which I find rather difficult mostly because I am not familiar with how to iron the cotton lining without damaging the outer fleece. My top stitching was a little messy on Lily's. The second one I made for my Etsy shop does not look as messy.

I even learned how to make a covered button! Now that is pretty neat.

A Slow Down

I am guessing that there are a few wondering how things are going with bringing our two newest children home. Well, we hit a snag a few weeks ago...a somewhat big one. I am still pretty discouraged about the whole situation. It kind of was like getting punched in the stomach. We are still hoping that things will work themselves out. We will wait and see what the next little while brings. Sorry for the lack of details and this post being so vague. If or when things work out I will let you know.

Well Said, Billy

Enough to eat, a place to sleep,
A coat to shut out winter's chill-
What more can anybody ask
Their cup of happiness to fill?

A Little Bit

of school action

in the

SUN!

It was just a beautiful day Monday!!!

Ah, I would not mind ALWAYS doing school outside in this weather!

Not sure what Anya is doing.

Maybe her school is just that boring!

Anya and Grace

Naomi schooling with the guinea pigs keeping her company.

Odell found a great place to do her math.

Too bad it snows in the winter.

A Summer Breakfast

It is hard to believe summer is coming to an end.

I thought that the girls and I would eat outside before we started school.

Flowers for the table.

Josh added one from his garden.

Mmmm...my makeshift 'we have nothing for breakfast' breakfast. *

Naomi and Odell do not seem to mind it!

My makeshift 'we have nothing for breakfast' breakfast recipe

A greased 13 x 17 pan
a dozen eggs mixed with about 2 cups of milk
a loaf of bread ripped into little pieces
About 1/4 cup sugar
cinnamon

Put the bread pieces in the greased pan. Mix the sugar and cinnamon in with the egg mixture. Pour that over the bread. Bake in a 350 oven for about 30 minutes or it looks done. Serve warm drizzled with syrup.

A Few Skirts

I was busy having fun this past weekend.

I made a few skirts that I want to list in one of my Etsy shops.

Lily was my eager model.

Too bad my camera is having issues.

What do you think?

Has It Been Two Weeks?!

Ok, here I am.

I fell off the blog grid for a few weeks.

Why?

It's the fight or flight thing.

I chose the flight option.

I have been a

little stressed,

panicked,

and all out

majorly

freaking
!!

I get like that before there are changes coming in my life.

I like things smooth,

predictable,

steady.

Change is good

but scary for me.

SO

I have to say I have been pretending nothing is soon going to change.

What is this mumbling all about any way?

Our home study is pretty much finished

which means soon we will be welcoming two new children into our home!

Ah!

I think I feel some major adoption labor pains!

I do not like labor pains even if the end result is good.

The time is near

but I'm very afraid.

Things will be good.

God has lead us down this path.

I read this really good quote that I keep tossing around in my head:

"Those who know their God will display strength and take action"

I know you God.

You are strong.

You have a plan.

I am weak.

I am walking blind.

That is a combination for great things to happen, isn't it?

Yes,it is.

It really is.

" O Lord God," I said, " I can't do that! I'm far too young! I am only a youth!"

" Don't say that," he replied, " for you will go wherever I send you and speak whatever I tell you to. And don't be afraid of the people, for I, the Lord, will be with you and see you through."

Jeremiah 1: 6-8

Ok Lord ,I am poking my hear out of the sand and getting ready to display strength and take action.

My knees are still wanting to buckle but I know you and this is a good thing this path you have me on.

Warmly,

A Patchwork Mommy
