Something I can Say..

I never made before.

Boys boxers.

I had a request from one of my older boys to make boxers.

How can I say no to a sewing request!

My son is very pleased.

I love my boys!

I will not divulge which boy I made them for but with all the holes my boys have in their jeans, I think you might figure it out.

I also made Elena a pair of p.j. bottoms.

She would not model them for my blog but they fit well and she is pleased. I almost could have made a size smaller, though.

Cute fabric for a 19 year old in my opinion. Elena likes it,too.

Number 33

The Waseca Blue Jays won over the Blue Earth Buccaneers 30 to 18 last night for their homecoming game!

I got a few pictures of Josiah #33 in action. I am sorry for the blurriness.

I do not know much about football as I mentioned in another post but I do enjoy seeing my boys in action!

Waseca Homecoming Parade!

This is a big day!!

The homecoming parade was this afternoon!

I was excited to see Josiah on the boys varsity football float!!

Here was my small crew. A peppy looking bunch don't you think?

Grace was not feeling well, but I did not know that until the parade was over but now looking at the picture I can see it. She told me she felt like she was going to throw up and you know what this loving, nurturing mom said sternly in reply, " Don't you do that Grace. Not here. You need to wait until you get home. No, do not do that (as she is gagging)." What mom would say something like that. Not my finest mom moment. I hope no one else heard.

I had her sit down and breath and then gave her a sucker to suck on to sooth her tummy on the walk home.

Well, it worked. She did not throw up even when she got home but I had her rest in her bed for the afternoon.

I think I traumatized her for life, though.

I traumatized myself for life.

Would it have been that bad if she threw up in the middle of all the public school kids, teachers, parade goers? She would have gotten over the embarrassment but I do not think I would have.

Wow, what a mom I am.

~sigh~

What I have been waiting the whole parade for!

Hey, where is Josiah!?

He is not easy to see hiding in the middle like that.

The big game against Blue Earth is tonight.

Great Find!

This past weekend there was an estate sale a few blocks away.

and look at what I bought for $20.00!

Now, look at what was with it!!!

I believe it is a 1954 machine.

Nice and solid.

I am excited to sew with it.

The stool had a bunch of goodies in it.

This alone was worth the money. The fun part it this button hole adapter works on my regular machine! COOL!!! I used this to make the buttons on the plaid blue jacket Lily was modeling the other day.

These three books I picked out of the free book bin.

It is very fun to buy a part of someone's history. It is like I am carrying on their legacy or something.

And Grant Is Gone!

Grant flew to Florida this morning.

He is spending a few days in Florida before he heads to Ghana on Monday.

It is actually happening!

So far this mom is doing ok.

It will be very different once Grant leaves the US.

But being in a melancholy mood, I decided to post a few picture of Grant.

Most of these, if not all, are somewhere on my blog but for our enjoyment I thought I would post them together so we did not have to search each post spanning the past five years to catch a glimpse of my second oldest,

My dear Grant.

I thought I would save you some work.

Grant at three month recovering from his heart surgery and now look at him!

Off to Ghana!

Only the Lord could see his future.

What an awesome young man Grant grew up to be.

Should I Be Worried?

Grant's departure countdown is near it's end.

Grant leaves for the airport in about five or six hours.

Eight weeks is a long time to live on what is in this bag so far.

Some very fast packing will need to be done.

But I am not worried.

Not real worried.

Ok, just a tiny bit worried we will not get everything packed in time.

Maybe more concerned Grant will have forgotten something important.

~Sigh~

I am missing Grant already.
