Be Squared

My newest sewing project!

It is a pretty nice baby quilt size (40" x 42").

Maybe I will get to quilting it sometime soon.

A Few Fun Things

of the sewing kind.

arg. not a good picture but a cute dress.

I really like this bird fabric.

I am not sure why it catches my eye. It is not my usual style.

There is something about the extra big scale bird cage images on a little girl dress that seemed like a fun wimsical idea.

and then the cute skirt. I just love it.

A Random Post Christmas Day

Tried my hand at potato pancakes.

Thanks Josh for shredding all those potatoes for me!

A REAL lot of work but they were so very good.

A little bling for the wall.

A thirsty cat decides it is a good time to interrupt my school time with Joel.

Three kids chillin' on the couch.

Hanging On By A Thread

a very thin, weak thread.

If you have some sort of grievance against me today is the time to let me know.

Do not be shy.

Just make sure you speak up so I can hear you over the rest of those who have words for me.

Is this really Christmas Eve?

All I want to do it curl up in my bed and never come out.

Say and why did the world not end on the 21st?

Maybe the end of the world is just running late.

Today would be a good day for the end to show up.

Plan B would be for me to beg Santa to take me with him on his sleigh after he unloads the kids bundles of coal I mean presents and drop me off in Australia or somewhere far away.

The secret is you can not tell that the day was just bad based on these photos I took today.

Joel and Josh. No editing was done on Josh's eyes. They are big and beautiful naturally like that.

Spice drops. Always a treat.

My sewing for the morning.

Two cute little size 1-2 dresses.

A pink cowgirl skirt

Tweedy Bird! This is a size 5-6 dress.

I had just enough for a tiny baby Tweedy Bird skirt. I guess it to be about 6 to 12 months maybe. It is very cute.

Pretty and Not So Much...

First, the pretty things I made today:

A sweet little toddler cowgirl dress.

and a very patriotic dress.

This is from On the Road with M' Liss fabric line.

I am still trying to figure out how to take good pictures of my dresses without Lily to model them for me. I am not liking these in front of the quilt ones. They do not show just how cute the dresses actually are. I will try something new the next time.

And now the not so pretty that I made today...

I made pitas!

I can not begin to tell you how terrific they taste!!!!

They did not look very pita-ish but boy did they taste good!!!

Someday I will learn to make homemade hummus.

I forgot to show you what was driving down our street today.

Only in Waseca!!!

Did I ever mention the Journey (the original) is totally AWESOME?!!!!

A Random Look

This morning's Dried Plum Sticky Buns

Very good.

Just a side note: No matter how tempting it is to snack on dried plums (aka: prunes but dried plums just sounds better) as you make the buns limit yourself to just a couple. Trust me on that...

What happens when I leave my camera unattended on the dining room table.

Grant took this picture of Joyce yesterday.

Who knew that this fun, innocent lava lamp would cause many nights of nightmares for an eight year old.

I guess it does kind-of resemble a trapped monster trying to get out.

A gift a friend gave us on Sunday.

I love it!

A word search.

A sweet little girl and I were married today.

Sorry for informing you in such an impersonal way but sometimes life happens so fast and one just needs to live in the moment.

Gifts would be appreciated...
