Christmas Play of the Adorable Kind

Naomi, Anya, Grace, Joel, and Lily were able to participate in the Grace Baptist Church Christmas play Sunday evening. How very fun!!!!!

Grace, Joel, and Lily go to Grace Baptist's Wednesday night Patch Club. Very good program. I go through the weekly Bible lessons with those three as a part of their homeschool and I love it. I look forward to it and even though it is for grade school kids, I personally learn a lot. Maybe even more that the kids do.

Anya and Naomi go to Friday night teen group at Grace before Club 180 at Christ Community.

The Christmas program was the first time we attended a Grace service but know the Pastor and his wife a little more casually through the kids. They are such nice people. The Christmas program was a fun time meeting people and fellowshipping. We were told that fellowship is the Baptist term for eating.  Ha-ha. I like fellowshipping! Someone made this WONDERFUL buffalo cream cheese dip. It was VERY good. If I could have made it look like a natural, normal thing, I would have just hung out right next to the buffalo dip fellowshipping with a little double dipping.

I did not get the greatest pictures but here you go!

A New Richland Photo Shoot

Yesterday, after New Richland's 2014 Prom Grand March (which was very well done by the way) our youngest five who went with to watch and Jeff humored me with an impromptu photo shoot.

Enjoy the results!!!!!!!

We stopped by The Yellow Mushroom for ice cream cones when we got back into Waseca.

It was a fun time.

Interesting is this group of five children are our 6th grade and younger group.

How can that be??!!

Remember when all of our kids seemed so little?

Where did the time go?

A Blustery Wednesday

I called our utility company this morning to double check our high bill. She did indeed confirm that it was NOT a typo nor was it a meter mistake.

~Sigh~

Large families, drafty old houses, extreme cold, and chilly feet are not a good mix. It makes for a high bill. She said we will have one more rather high bill this next month and then it should lower. Gee, our house is heated by gas primarily but because of the cold we had turned on the supplemental electric wall heaters. That must have been what added that extra to the bill. I am very nervous to get the gas bill.

On a very sweet note Joel made me a Night Rhymes book. He added this original night rhyme. This is going to be a keeper!

I finished the dress that matches the skirt I made last night. The dress turned out wonderful!

I putzed around taking pictures of it with the help of my model. The pictures turned out pretty good but would have been that much better in day light.

Stay warm Thursday. It is going to be another cold day in this now Dome-less state.

Something I Overheard Yesterday

"Joel, when you are not busy do you think you can get a needle and thread to sew up the hole in my pants."

"Sure, Lily. I don't mind. I can do that."

A few thoughts crossed my mind...

How sweet that a nine year old can do (and is willing to do) such awesome big kid tasks in the eyes of a six year old.

How sweet that in the mind of a nine year old, he can handle such big kid tasks with awesome confidence.

How less than sweet to realise your six year old needs to ask her nine year old brother to sew up a hole in her pants because the mom, this mom, moi, is 'too busy' sewing other things for pretty much imaginary people. Haha.

Anyway, the humbling sting was quickly pushed away by this sight.

I just could not get over the huge blue hat on Joel's head.

Don't let him know just how precious it looks.

Please.

He would then take it off and never put it back on again.

And then he will, all of the sudden, be 'closer to ten' than 'just turned nine'.

And more proof that I am loved.

Lily and Her Pretend Games

Got love them!!

Elena let Lily play with a ring of hers one day and Lily played her pretend 'marry me' game most of that afternoon.

I put my very amateur film skills to work to try to capture the sweetness of this five year old.

Thanks big brother Joel for playing along!!

These two are like two peas in a pod.

Just the way siblings should be.

Warms this mom's heart.

A Nice Day In Pictures

There were some pretty nice fall days this past week!

I took advantage of hanging some fabric and miscellaneous laundry out to dry. It might be the last time until next spring!

Isn't Lily's dress gorgeous? I wish I could make something like this! It was from a bin of clothes that was passed on to us. I LOVE it!!

Hmm...this look like Joel and Lily but there is something not quite right...
