Christmas Play of the Adorable Kind

Naomi, Anya, Grace, Joel, and Lily were able to participate in the Grace Baptist Church Christmas play Sunday evening. How very fun!!!!!

Grace, Joel, and Lily go to Grace Baptist's Wednesday night Patch Club. Very good program. I go through the weekly Bible lessons with those three as a part of their homeschool and I love it. I look forward to it and even though it is for grade school kids, I personally learn a lot. Maybe even more that the kids do.

Anya and Naomi go to Friday night teen group at Grace before Club 180 at Christ Community.

The Christmas program was the first time we attended a Grace service but know the Pastor and his wife a little more casually through the kids. They are such nice people. The Christmas program was a fun time meeting people and fellowshipping. We were told that fellowship is the Baptist term for eating.  Ha-ha. I like fellowshipping! Someone made this WONDERFUL buffalo cream cheese dip. It was VERY good. If I could have made it look like a natural, normal thing, I would have just hung out right next to the buffalo dip fellowshipping with a little double dipping.

I did not get the greatest pictures but here you go!

A New Richland Photo Shoot

Yesterday, after New Richland's 2014 Prom Grand March (which was very well done by the way) our youngest five who went with to watch and Jeff humored me with an impromptu photo shoot.

Enjoy the results!!!!!!!

We stopped by The Yellow Mushroom for ice cream cones when we got back into Waseca.

It was a fun time.

Interesting is this group of five children are our 6th grade and younger group.

How can that be??!!

Remember when all of our kids seemed so little?

Where did the time go?

Happy Birthday, Anya!!!

Anya turned 11 years old yesterday!

Happy birthday, Anya!!!!!

I LOVE you!!

Don't all kids ask for cat treats as a birthday present?

Do not mention to Nolan or Josh you saw them on my blog.

Promise?

Nolan is looking a little like Keanu Reeves in this picture, isn't he?

Ok, Josh is just so cute. There is no one like Josh. He is a sweetheart!

Chitter Chatter

I was reading a Facebook feed from Reece's Rainbow Adoption Ministry this afternoon. Reece's Rainbow focuses on children from around the world with down syndrome who are adoptable.
There was a woman who is in China right now picking up her two down syndrome children from China. She mentioned that one of the children does not look like he has Downs at all. She was kind of shocked that he looks "normal". He is diagnosed with what is called Mosaic Down Syndrome. I did not know what that was so I did an Internet search on it. I found that in people with Mosaic Down Syndrome some cell groups have the normal 46 chromosomes and others have an extra copy of the 21st chromosome to make 47 cells in a group. (I think I explained it correctly?). In regular Down Syndrome people there is an extra chromosome in all the cell groups not just some cell groups. This search lead me to lists of the different common traits of people with Down Syndrome. I was looking at some images of Downs babies with sandal foot and thought "gee, these little feet look SO familiar!" Anya has feet that look just like these babies. I read up a little more and sure enough Anya has what is called a singular palmer crease on both of her palms. She has always had her cute flat nose that we could not figure out who she inherited it from. Having eight bio children she is the only one to have these unique features. There are other Down Syndrome features she does not have but I thought it was interesting. I wonder if this is information worth investigating farther?

Enough of that ramble.

Here is a little peek at what I have been working on the last few days.

Little girl skirts (just in case you were wondering...)

The next two skirts are not finished yet.

Here are two skirt fabric combos waiting to be made.

Off to sleep.

Tuesday What Did You Bring?

Well...just normal-ness, I guess.

Thanks for asking.

Ha ha.

My mind isn't flowing cleaver-ness except in making up words that really do not exist.

I gave Josh, Anya, Naomi, and Ekie had a multiplication fact test today and for a job well done I thought they would enjoy making a special treat.

Melted chocolate, smooshed up pretzels, peanut butter, and mini marshmallows combined in any ratio will never fail.

See, told you so.

Always love the colorful paper route complaint slips. The pretty cheerful colors almost make me forget they are complaints. It is kind of like Marry Poppins when she sings:

A Spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down
The medicine go down-wown
The medicine go down
Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down
In a most delightful way
