Christmas Play of the Adorable Kind

Naomi, Anya, Grace, Joel, and Lily were able to participate in the Grace Baptist Church Christmas play Sunday evening. How very fun!!!!!

Grace, Joel, and Lily go to Grace Baptist's Wednesday night Patch Club. Very good program. I go through the weekly Bible lessons with those three as a part of their homeschool and I love it. I look forward to it and even though it is for grade school kids, I personally learn a lot. Maybe even more that the kids do.

Anya and Naomi go to Friday night teen group at Grace before Club 180 at Christ Community.

The Christmas program was the first time we attended a Grace service but know the Pastor and his wife a little more casually through the kids. They are such nice people. The Christmas program was a fun time meeting people and fellowshipping. We were told that fellowship is the Baptist term for eating.  Ha-ha. I like fellowshipping! Someone made this WONDERFUL buffalo cream cheese dip. It was VERY good. If I could have made it look like a natural, normal thing, I would have just hung out right next to the buffalo dip fellowshipping with a little double dipping.

I did not get the greatest pictures but here you go!

A Very Busy Day!

Today was a very busy day!

It started with a children's Christmas program at church

and then in the afternoon was time for our

5th Annual Frye Caroling Party!

I stupidly forgot to take pictures of our actual caroling party so here are a few random before pictures.

Picture of the chairs all ready for our caroling guests I took last night

Before the guests came Lily was eyeing the treats as I set them out on the table

We had a lot of fun and a lot of people came to carol, visit, and eat! Mrs. Shaffer took this picture of some of the carolers.

There was a group of us who stayed back in the warmth of our house to chat and eat. So those of you who are not fond of the cold or caroling come anyway next year! Stay in the warm house with me and the food!

And a friendly note to the neighbors: please answer your doors next year!

Warmly,A Patchwork Mommy

Sunday Happenings

Jeff and some of the kids went to a Missions Fellowship Luncheon after the church service this morning. The Wheelers, who are missionaries in Bolivia but back in Waseca for a while, made a Bolivian appetizer and main dish for everyone at the luncheon. They sent home with Jeff and the kids some main dish extras for the rest of us to try. It was very good. I did not get a good photo of it but trust me,it was very good.

Sometimes, it is hard to find a little peace and quiet in a home as full as ours. Leave it to two small young ones to look for a simple solution.

I did not get any more baby blankets made today but I though I would show you the waiting to be made baby blanket pile. Isn't it a beautiful pile? I have these 14 waiting to be made. More than half are fun Heidi Grace fabrics. I have each blanket top and bottom measured and cut to the right size.I just need to add the batting. It takes about an hour or a little more to make each blanket so the pile should go down quick enough. Looking at the pile,I noticed that there are only two boy looking ones.I should think about making more boy blankets in the future.

As I was measuring and cutting the fabric for my baby blankets,Lily was sitting by me eating a snack. I think it was Elena who used some blanket scraps to add a little extra adorable-ness to our already adorable Lids.

This is my 'soon to be made into five simple (and cheap) fairy/princess costumes' pile.
