Saturday's Farmers Market

I am still playing catch-up. So do not mind my back posts. I just need to keep things in order. It is a 'Tina thing' ...

Saturday was a pretty fun day at our local farmers market.

There were quite a few booths selling so many fun things!

Here is a little peek of us cleaning up after most everyone else left.

I sold all eight loaves of my breads but my blueberry lemon cake pieces did not go over real well.

They do not look very tasty after being in the sun for a few hours.

I am still trying to figure out what my signature baked good is.

So far it is not the blueberry lemon cakes, my cutie cherry pies, monkey bread, or my cookies...although the chocolate chip macadamia nut ones people seemed to like...

~sigh~

I kind of wish I was a better baker.

BUT I can make that sewing machine of mine create some beauty.

Isn't the little suitcase SO cute! I found it at a garage sale just Friday for only a dollar! It is now one of my top things I own. And it is a cute display prop!

My '11th hour' crew.

My wagon is getting pretty packed. Each week it seems I am trying to fit 'just one more thing' in the wagon.

While I was pulling my wagon down the street to the farmers market Saturday morning my neighbor saw me and said, "I see they finally had enough of you and kicked you out."

I know he was joking

BUT

Umm...could he really have heard me being all loud, and whiny and fussy and bicker-ish towards Jeff the night before...?

I am kind of convicted.

I am SO pretty embarrassed.

I should REALLY practice the art of holding my tongue or at the least whisper more.

What Do I See?

"I look and what do I see?
I see lots of pretty
and a lot of happy
and a bit of everything that's there inside of me.

I look and what do I see?
From a head all filled with thread and linen in a raggy jamboree
I see lots of smiling
and a lot of singing
and a lot of something else that no one else can see.

Lots of butterflies in the air
Lots of honeycomb everywhere
All the pretty things we could share
Together"

Grant in Ghana!

This fall Grant (our second oldest) is going to go on a mission trip with a group of others from our church to Ghana West Africa!

The mission trip group is being organised by ASON

Americans Serving Other Nationals

Assisting national Christian leaders accomplish their God-given visions.

So far we raised $593!

We have about another $3,000 to go.

God can do it!!

We thought that we would send out a collage photo card along with Grant's support letters so people could have a visual reminder to pray for Grant and his trip.

I love that idea!!

So we were out snapping pictures of Grant with his siblings and mom and pop the other day.

Here is a sampling.

If anyone is interested in us sending out a support letter and photo just let me know via the comment section.

The more people praying for Grant and the rest of the mission team the better!!

Wilbur Must Know...Right?

“What do you mean less than nothing?
I don't think there is any such thing as less than nothing.
Nothing is absolutely the limit of nothingness.
It's the lowest you can go.
It's the end of the line.
How can something be less than nothing?
If there were something that was less than nothing, then nothing would not be nothing, it would be something - even though it's just a very little bit of something.
But if nothing is nothing, then nothing has nothing that is less than it is.”

I have been having a pretty bad week...

Are you sure Wilbur...

Are you real sure that your 'less than nothing' thoughts are sound?

I am feeling a tad like 'less than nothing' right now.

It feels quite real to me...

Waseca County Fair

I did not take very many pictures of the kids at the fair this year!

I wish I did!

I was just a little lazy.

I did get some of the kids eating ice cream Sundays on Sunday.

Enjoy!

A Little Lily Time

This year I took my sweet little Lily for her day at the fair.
It was nice that the other kids did not need as much supervision (the buddy system is great) so I could focus more on Lily.

We visited the animals

and went on rides

Where did Lily go?!

Funny. I went to the fair with Lily but came home with the most adorable cat!

Never Too Young

While the big kids were enjoying a late evening at the fair, Lily thought she would try her hand at selling some of her bracelets.

Her little four year old fingers are not the most cordinated at braiding although she really gave it a lot of effort!

So the other girls were very kind to donate a bracelet or two each for Lily to sell.

She is doing quite well!

Six Fish in the Water

It has been SO hot these past few days!!
Our neighbor must have thought so too because he brought our kids this pool!

Can you believe that!

The kids were thankful for the sprinkler but this pool is MUCH better at beating the heat!!

It is a Bun of a Day!!

A very sweet person brought over a ton of brat buns that they will not use.

Thank you !!!!

SO

I am going to spend the next few days being creative with our buns!

Chuckle

That sounds a little funny, doesn't it?

The fun of it is I will try to use just other ingredients I have at home.

For lunch yesterday, I started by toasting the buns on the griddle...

SO good!

I could of actually just stopped there and ate many plain fried buns.

(I LOVE FRIED BREAD)

but I did not.

I mixed up a very yummy turkey mixture.

and like magic!

Very yummy Italian turkey sub sandwiches!

For dinner I toasted more buns and mixed up a sort of  black bean Tex/Mex mixture.

This one looks kind of plain but there were kids asking for seconds which is always a good sign!

Tomorrow is a new day and I have a lot more ideas!

What A Fine Looking Young Man

Did the Fryes get a new black poodle?

No!!!

I cut Alan's hair!

But Alan's pile of hair kind of looks like a poodle...

Alan before

Alan after

So handsome!!!

A fun side note: my dad bought me this sewing basket just about 24 years ago for Christmas! My dad died nineteen years ago which makes this basket a very special treasure. It is just one of only a handful of things that I have from my dad.

Now days it is home to our hair cutting supplies. Who could ever have looked ahead all those years to imagine it still being used!
