Well, Hello There!

I made the omelet breakfast for the troops.

Very tasty!

As well as our supper ham soup.

We did our school as always amongst my sewing stuff but I did not do any actual sewing today.

A partial game of RISK was played

A hug for Skittles

Jeff talked to the kids about Matthew 22:36-40 for our Wednesday night home Bible group time.

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Then kids watched The Blind Side and enjoyed microwave popcorn and strawberry pop.

Lily said to me that the movie was very sad because the boy (Big Mike) was walking in the rain and did not even have a jacket.

All of the kids really, really liked the movie. Even our two Jr highers snuck in to watch the movie when they came home from their youth group.

****

On another note, I have been melancholy over our baby Lily turning 5 this past Monday. I was editing the pictures for my blog post and looked over at my door. I was thinking that the years of baby dolls and little cute backpacks and the other little kid stuff will be over sooner than I want it to.

~sigh~

Also will be gone those moments of being needed in the way only young children need their mom.

Melancholy.

I also have a headache that just will not go away.

Good night and sweet dreams.

Today's Project

What do you think?

This was a fun jumper to make and it sewed up pretty quickly.

I decided to fully line this jumper in an off white polyester/cotton fabric.

I used this pattern. I like this pattern because it does not require a zipper or buttons! I made a size six thinking it would be a good size to add to my Etsy shop. I thought it would be too big for Lily but seems to fit Lily well. Lily is closer to a size 5.

I decided to try my hand at making a headband, too.

It was so easy to make. I love easy to make things.

Out In The Fields With God

The little cares that fretted me,
I lost them yesterday,
Among the fields above the sea,
Among the winds at play,

Among the lowing of the herds,
The rustling of the trees,
Among the singing of the birds,
The humming of the bees.

The foolish fears of what might pass,
I cast them all away,
Among the clover-scented grass,
Among the new-mown hay,

Among the hush of the corn,
Where drowsy poppies nod,
Where ill thoughts die and good are born-
Out in the fields with God.

Falling Asleep

I am falling asleep right here as I type.

So tired!!

But on to my evening's dress creation!

See,I told you this was an awesome pattern!

And I just LOVE this fabric!!

Jeff's cheerful face this evening as he patiently listened to me carry on all fussy like.

So many woes...

let's see:

someone keeps moving my sewing scissors, I am fatish and have jiggly old lady arms, I think I forgot to rinse the conditioner out of my hair this morning so my hair looks like an oil factory,...sigh...too many woes to count...but Jeff listens, all the same.

He is a very good guy.

The cherry on the sunday this evening was Sam Romo from LightSwitch sent me a personal email!!!

Who cares that it was just a spam email.

You know you are someone when you get spam from a famous band member.

Should I worry that he is stalking me?

Teasing.

Actually, if you ever have the privilege to meet the Romo brothers count yourself blessed. Jeff and Elena have met them and they are great guys. Their parents raised them well.

My Thursday

I'll call this post for the lack of a catchy title thinking brain tonight.

It is nice to have a few children working at McDonalds and one of whom that can drive to buy me up a little mid afternoon pick-me-up.

This is what happens when the cats run out of cat food and a child who has an aversion to eating at the table. Hey, no judging, I have 15 children and I found something called parenting liberty...I said it with a song voice...liberty...trust me, Lily will not be eating on the floor when she gets big...but this could be good missionary training...

Odell worked hard and made me this very pretty decoration.

A diorama Joel made today. He wants you to especially notice the apple falling from the apple tree.

A dress I made this evening.

I LOVE it!

I will SO be making more of this pattern!!!!!

Just in case you were interested, the pattern is from this book.

I know it is a nightdress pattern but, gee, doesn't it makes the perfect day dress!!!

A Few Heart Warmers

Biggest sis ( Elena) cleaned out her make-up/nail polish/jewelry bin and passed on a treasure of items to wee little sis (Lily)...

A thinking cap compliments of McDonalds helps this young lad (Grant, who is presently employed at mentioned eating establishment) do his math.

Frye Youth Church this evening (aka: our very own eight 6th grade on down children) at it again each making a thank you card for their Illinois grandparents, eating popcorn, and listening to a Bible lesson Dad style.

and a fun game of 'guess the Bible person that is taped on my back'.

Good guessing Lily!!
