A Quick Hello

Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done.Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.

1 Chronicles 16:8-9

Thank you for loving me,Lord!

I have ten quilts all ready to machine quilt. This must be about 8 yards of Warm and Natural! If I do three a day,I'll finish before the weekend. That sounds a little too ambitious. Ok,I will settle with getting four finished by Thursday so Jeff can get them in the mail on their way to Alaska before Jeff and a few of the kids leave for the weekend. They are heading to Illinois for Bram's Bar Mitzvah. Bram is Jeff's nephew.

It is hard to tell from this picture what the quilt tops actually look like. But aren't the backing fabrics very pretty? Five girl quilts and five boy quilts.

Here is a peek of a few. As you can see,a few of the quilts are pretty simple ones but I just enjoy making patchwork quilts like these.

Gotta love those little retro looking cowboys and Indians!

I will show you them as I finish them. I'm exited!

Fun On A Sunday

Jeff was out today playing with the kids in the snow and took some great pictures!

Lily and her love/hate relationship with the snow

A few of the kids on the snowbank in out driveway. The impressive thing about this snowbank is that it was all created by the effort of our kids.We do not have a snow blower so the pile was created with shovel power!

Odell in the pretty outfit she received from her grandparents for her birthday. Doesn't she look just beautiful?!

A Fun Sunday Afternoon

I finished up my Ohio Star baby blanket. It turned out so cute!!!I really like this idea of using a small quilt top (this one is about 29 x 29) and instead of making a full quilt using the top as a baby blanket. I think I am on to something good!! I think it is practical as well as pretty...I hope at least.

I did not add batting but instead added a backing of white minky fabric which is why it is a blanket and not a quilt.

I think it makes the prettiest baby set! I just might be the only mom who would picked out her baby's blanket or quilt based on what I dressed my baby in for a day out. I am just a little odd...

I am exited to get this in the mail.

I know that my homeschurching the smaller kids seems a little odd to most.In all fairness to me, I have not really fully explained exactly why I stay home with the younger bunch on Sundays. That is more of a private family issue so I will not. But I have to say, like I did last Sunday, this has been hands down the funnest I have had with my children thus far. I am with them all the time and we have a lot of fun but I really look forward to our Sunday mornings together.

Today, we ran a little long so a few of our other kids joined in when they came home from regular church. Jeff was even able to share some Bible truths with my class. How great is that!!!

Our verse for the past few weeks was

For great is his love toward us.
Psalm 117:2

I am feeling like I am coming down with something...a head cold of sorts...No time to sit around sick!

A Very Busy Day!!

Since I am still not organized enough to get to church with the younger kids I though a little home churchgoing would fit us well! So while Jeff and eight of the kids were off at regular church I held our first children's home church. No need to wear matching clothes or braid hair or even make sure finger nails were clean. No pressure to do anything but learn about God and enjoy each other. I am still working on the worship part. We had a great time! In all honesty I just loved it! I truly did. Of course, the goal is to get organized enough to go to church as a family but we think this is a good solution at this point for our family.

Of course, later in the day was Valentines celebration time!!

Jeff,Joyce, and Alan made a very tasty meal of Italian sausage and peppers. It was very good.

and thanks to A Baker's Dozen for their mention of The Duggar's Layered Ice Cream Cake we had a wonderful dessert made by Josh and Anya.

Only a tot can get away with wearing glamorous high heals along with a very chocolaty face.
