~SIGH~

I am sorry I have been quiet these last few months and sticking to mostly photo posts. My mind has been consumed with things like home school curriculum purchasing. That takes almost all of my mental focus each year. I mostly just had to organize what child needs what workbooks in each subject. Not so hard but doing it for the thirteen this year can get pretty confusing. In my spare moments I have been adding to carts on various on-line sites. Well, now everything is done and purchased. My focus will now be to make a ruff plan of what to accomplish when.

It is pretty melancholy to think of Grant, our second oldest child, graduating in the spring. It is hard to believe! I feel like I barely started and now both Elena and Grant are adults! I just had to buy them something home school-y just because so I bought Grant and Elena each nice adult Bibles and a biology color book for Elena.

Why does time go so fast?

Bonus Night!!

Friday was a bonus night!

It was parents night at the girls basketball game.

Although I missed Joyce's actual JV game (sorry Joyce!!) she still brought me a beautiful rose.

Ah. That was SO sweet!!!

Lily thought it was like a princess being handed a rose.

AND...

guess who was the evening half time show during the girls varsity basketball game!?

Waseca's very own Heavenword Handlers!!!

I was able to get a few seconds of the end of the Handler's performance on camera.

See.

That is a bonus night!!!

Girls B-Squad

I am so pleased that I figured out our scanner a few months back.

I thought I would scan in Joyce's basketball picture.

What a beautiful young lady Joyce is!!

We should be getting Alan and Josiah's basketball pictures soon.

Cyrus's basketball season did not start yet but I will make sure I get pictures for him when the time comes!

Sadly, our district dropped JV boys basketball so Grant could not play school ball this year. He is too old for B squad and the coach already had a full varsity team. Many boys were left with no way to play basketball this year. I am SO thankful for our Waseca FCA chapter (Fellowship of Christian Athletes). They formed a Sunday night league for all interested highschooler basketball players to form teams and play each other. The only requirement? One can not be playing on the varsity team.

For those who remember, our kids are still performing with the HeavenWord Handlers.

They had a performance last week in Waterville and a possible performance next week in Janesville.

Here is a great must see promo video! You will notice many of our kids if you look close!

And Here They Are!!

The date was today.

It was a very important date!

They have always been Fryes in our minds but now Minnesota agrees!

Odell Charisse Frye

Joyce Anna Frye

Naomi Genevieve Frye

Our court time was a little early so Jeff and I took just the three girls.

We had fun.

After the adoption proceeding were finished the five of us walked to the coffee shop to get a treat.

And then we spent some time browsing in a few shops in downtown Waseca.

It was a fun time!!!

What a blessed mom I am!

Say Cheese....

A trip to the dentist and no cavities calls for those pearly whites to be shown off.

Lily did not actually go to the dentist but how can I not include her in the fun!

Um...Joel didn't you already get your pearly whites in a few other pictures already?

I had to do a little pleading to get this picture. He He. But I got it. And I'm happy.

BlueJay Pride Night!

This evening was Waseca Bluejay Pride Night.

We all had the privilege of going to the Varsity Boys Basketball game! Unfortunately, none of our kids were playing in this particular game. Grant is on the B team, Alan is on the 8th grade team, and Joyce is on the girls 9th grade team. But it sure was fun to watch the varsity game anyway! The Bluejays won 61-48 win over St. James. They did a great job!!!

Here they are in action!

The Bluejays are the boys in blue. Ha Ha. I think I hear a certain child of mine in my head saying "Duh mom. Of course the Bluejays are the ones in blue". But just in case there are some out there reading that are a little slow like me,I thought I would mention it.

I sat on one side of the gym with these eight cute children. Elena also sat with me but was camera shy.

While Jeff was on the other side of the gym with none other than the halftime show...and guess who the half time show would be?

Our very own

HeavenWord Handlers!!!

See them all over there in their bright yellow shirts?

Just in case you are wondering, HeavenWord Handlers is a local FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) Basketball Handling Performance team. Grant, Alan, Cyrus, Joyce, and Nolan are a part of the team along with friends Shane, his brother Cole, and Rochelle.

Here the HeavenWord Handlers are just starting their performance.

Grant doing a spinning trick. (I'm sorry for the very fuzzy pictures)

Cyrus spinning the ball while doing a somersault.

Alan doing a double dribble trick.

Grant spinning a basketball on a very tall crappy pole.

I missed getting pictures of Joyce and Nolan doing their tricks but hopefully I will get some at another one of their performances.

What a great job they all did!!!

After the game, the varsity players took the time to autograph Bluejay Pride posters for all who wanted. The kids just thought it was very neat.

I was SO glad we were able to all be there to watch!!!

Go Bluejays!!

This is Joyce's first year playing girls basketball for the Bluejays.

She is really enjoying it!

She was so exited to get her first ever team sports pictures.

It is hard to believe we are just a month away from Joyce, Odell, and Naomi's three year anniversary of being a part of our family. Joyce sure has become a young woman right in front of our eyes.

Shop Talk and a Few Other Things

This weekend I started to gather up all the fabric I was meaning to make baby blankets with. Here is the stack. This should be most everything except a few that I was planning to back with Minkee fabric.

I spent Sunday evening cutting our each into 32 x 32 pieces and then rounded up any flannel I had to use as the batting. I put it all away this evening to get the next 9 weeks of school planning done. I made about 120 copies of stuff just for Grant and Alan to get them through the next 9 weeks. I used up my printer ink and had to stop for the night. Two kids down,11 more to go. I will probably work on Easter skirts throughout the next few weeks in between school organizing and such.

I am supposed to be downsizing my fabric stash but I saw this unique fat quarter bundle the other day. What caught my eye was the gray snail fabric. It's not my usual fabric choice but I think it will be fun to think of something to make out of this fabric.

I was thinking of a small gift type of thing to send with my items that sell in my Etsy shop. Elena is great with paper crafts and made this up for me as an idea. I love it!! Good idea.

Our first fire of the year in our outside fire pit. Some of the kids were sitting out late talking. Alan is becoming an expert fire builder.

Hello little Lily!

She greeted me at the door when I came in from taking a picture of the fire pit. It is nice to be missed, isn't it?

Cyrus and Elena watching music videos of Barlowgirls and Stellar Kart,I think. Eventually the fire outside looked like more fun than the computer so they ventured out there to join the other kids.

A few things I almost forgot!

Jeff found a car! Hurray! It is red. Not bad for $600.00. I will take a picture of it soon.

Grant had his first day of baseball practice this afternoon. Things seemed to go well. He thinks it will be a good year.

A Patchwork Mommy
